Kalanchoe Pinnata

Miracle Leaf (Kalanchoe Pinnata) “Mother of Hundreds”

April 2017 UPDATE: Stock is good on these, except don’t have any 2″ pot specimens ready as usual. Shipping cuttings, for now. All parts of this plant are as hardy and clone able as could be imagined!

Miracle Leaf (Kalanchoe Pinnata)  is a poisonous exotic succulent plant from Madagascar. It has a unique ability to sprout baby plants along its leaf edges which upon contact with soil sprout plants profusely. Virtually any part of the plant will successfully root with great effectiveness. A great selection for the classroom, xeriscaping and terrariums.

Product Description

Seeds are roughly the size of dust and are expert level. Seeds are too small too count but each pack should have at least several hundred. Seeds of this size usually require humidity domes and bottom heat. Results may vary.

Seeder leaves typically have about a couple dozen leaf notch germplasm sites around the succulent edges. Baby plants may be included depending on if the source plants are currently producing them. Either way just press the leaf bottoms down slightly into soil surface and they’ll root down and go on to produce plantlets while also growing into a full plant again.

Live Plants have full root balls. Many in stock. Some specimens over 12″ tall, but wont ship good unless the total order is big enough to require a box.

Some preliminary Pubmed cancer results.

In common with other Crassulaceae, Kalanchoe pinnata has been found to contain bufadienolide cardiac glycosides These can cause cardiac poisoning, particularly in grazing animals.

In traditional medicine, Kalanchoe species have been used to treat ailments such as infections, rheumatism and inflammation. Kalanchoe pinnata has been recorded in Trinidad and Tobago as being used as a traditional treatment for hypertension and for the treatment of kidney stones in India where it goes by the name of Pather Chat or Paan-futti.
